No matter your goal, a consistent, cohesive feed is attractive to all. Think of it as ASMR for your eyes. It’s super satisfying to see beautiful colors or a tone that flows beautifully together. I know it seems like a lot of work, but a few simple tips can get you to influencer-level content!
1. Your Aesthetic
Personally, this is my favorite part of Instagram content creation! We recommend shooting content within a consistent color palette. It definitely doesn’t have to be location-based, but if you’re an Arizona-based small business, maybe you use an earthy, warm color palette. If you’re a spa, maybe you use greens, blues, and purples - calming, cool colors.
In the above examples, you’ll notice that if you took off the filter, the colors used in their photos are still (1) greens, oranges and browns; and (2) purples, blues, greens, and pinks.
2. Shooting Your Content
At Social Light, we gather 30+ days of content all in one photoshoot, and we recommend doing the same. Spend a couple hours shooting ALL the content you’ll need, that way you ensure you’re using the similar colors and have a similar look. This way your content is consistent and you don’t have to worry about it for another 30 days!
3. Create a Mood Board
When you save a photo on Instagram, you can organize it to save it in a specific collection.
We also love taking advantage of Pinterest for creating mood boards! Save images by similar tones, poses, captions, locations, and more to see a clear picture of the aesthetics and themes you may be interested in.
Then, decide on your brand and go for it!
4. Clean Up Your Instagram
As you begin posting within your new aesthetic, archive old content that doesn’t quite match, or content that's low-quality. These posts aren’t helping promote your brand and if they’re low-quality, they may not have as much engagement, which hurts your overall engagement rate.
Creating this consistent and cohesive Instagram feed can give you a leg up on your competition and really help you stand out!
And make sure you keep your feed inspirational. With your new feed aesthetic, you’ll inspire people to check out your account, now it’s time to keep them there! Check out our last blog to learn how your captions can help achieve that.
